Hi, I’m Justin! Over the past 5 years, I have spent much time helping students with general chemistry. I was a teaching assistant at BU for 3 years and have continued with private tutoring for 2 years after graduating. Chemistry can be challenging, but I hope to help as much as possible!

I work at Brigham and Women’s Hospital doing endocrine and cardiovascular research and will be matriculating to medical school this fall of 2025.

    Marta Sliwa, Ph.D.

Dr. Marta Sliwa earned her B.A. in Chemistry from Boston University in 2017 and completed her Ph.D. in Chemistry at Johns Hopkins University in 2024. At JHU, Marta’s research focused on developing new ways to design and control nanomaterial structures. Today, she serves as an Assistant Director of Doctoral Life Design at JHU, where she helps graduate students navigate their academic and career journeys.

Whether in the lab or the classroom, Marta loves making complex science topics more approachable. She’s passionate about helping students build confidence, stay curious, and feel supported—no matter where they are in their learning journey. Marta has been tutoring Chemistry (among other topics) since her freshman year of undergraduate studies, and has thoroughly enjoyed helping students gain a better understanding of the topics they are learning in the classroom over the last 10+ years!

Marta is originally from New Jersey (where she currently lives) and enjoys traveling and exploring new places whenever the opportunity arises. Outside of work, you’ll likely find her hanging out with her dog Jetty, cooking something new, diving into a good book, or buying yet another plant to add to her collection.

    Founder of gen-chem.org !

I've been teaching, tutoring, and making content for general chemistry for 3+ years!

I've worked with 1,000+ students for countless hours. My tutoring style is very laid back, but at the same time I challenge you to think through tough concepts!

I'm currently pursuing an MD with an interest in Radiology.

    BU 2023

I majored in human physiology and was a learning assistant for Gen-Chem during my junior year! I know chemistry isn’t everyone’s favorite class but it’s my goal to help break down concepts in a way that’s easier to understand :)

Since graduating, I have been working as a medical assistant. So far I’ve worked in dermatology, integrative health, and now cardiology! I just finished applying to PA school and hope to go back to school next year.

    BU 2024

Hi! During my time as an undergrad at BU I was a learning assistant for Gen-Chem 101/102 for 3 semesters where I helped dozens of students get a better understanding of the difficult concepts.

I love the sciences and I have a strong passion for teaching students! I look forward to working with you! :)
